The Dutch racer recently admitted uncertainty about his long-term future in the sport, expressing a reluctance to compete for as many years as racing veterans like Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso.Notably, Verstappen's father, Jos Verstappen, triumphed in the LMP2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2008, sparking speculation that Red Bull's top driver might also aspire to conquer this specific challenge."I like watching IndyCar, I have a lot of respect for what they do, but I don't think I would participate," he said as quoted by Corriere dello Sport."I would definitely like to try a MotoGP, and I like SuperGT.“I got to try one last year, and it was very nice. Super Formulas are beautiful, and are the fastest cars below Formula 1, but I would definitely like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I've already been there when my father raced," he added. In Formula 1, Jos Verstappen raced for seven different teams during eight seasons. From 1994 through 2003, he scored two podium finishes in his career, the first Dutch F1 racer to do so.Since leaving F1, Jos won races in A1 Grand Prix and Le Mans Series LMP2 races, winning the 24 hours of Le Mans' 2008 LMP2 class.Verstappen has coached his son Max from an early age in karting, through to Max's successes as an F1 driver becoming the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Formula One Drivers' Champion. Jos has also served as a manager for Max.
